People often talk about how certain individuals, spaces, events or situations are “high vibration “while other individuals, spaces, events or situations are “low vibration”. In these contexts, it is generally accepted that it is more desirable and better for us to live “high vibration” lives. However what does vibration actually mean?
What is vibration?
Everything is energy – us, the things around us are all made up of energy and energy vibrates. As humans, we have an energy field around us and the health of that energy field can have profound effects on our general wellbeing.
Vibrations are like rhythm. From tidal patterns to the changing seasons, there is a rhythm to life and all things on earth. Unsurprisingly therefore, rhythms are also found within our bodies. Heart rates, breathing patterns and circadian rhythms are all prime examples of measurable rhythms.
Apart from these, there are also smaller vibrations happening within us which generate electromagnetic energy waves which can be detected on the nanoscale through the use of atomic force microscopes.
Research has indicated that these vibrations and the electromagnetic energy associated with them can cause changes in our cells, which can in turn affect how our bodies function.
Researchers have known for a long time that thoughts and behaviours affect the rhythms in your body. For instance, anxious thoughts trigger the release of stress hormones that stimulate our heart rate to speed up or slow down. The sound vibrations of music, likewise, affect thoughts, emotions, and body systems.
It is therefore possible to speed up or slow down the vibrations that occur at the cellular and atomic levels by changing our thoughts, behaviours — and even our surroundings.
Changing those nanovibrations, could have far ranging effects on our mental state, emotional and physical health.
Low Vibration versus High Vibration
Living a high vibration life is a life that is in a state of joy and balance. It requires living in alignment with our true self, radiating positivity, attracting abundance, and spreading peace, love, kindness, and compassion wherever we go.
On the other hand, low vibrations are associated with darker qualities such as hatred, fear, greed, reactivity, guilt, shame or jealousy. Living a low vibration life can lead to depression, feeling stuck or stagnant. It can even affect you physical life!
But what does all of this really mean? Essentially, the higher your vibration is, the more in touch you are with your higher self and the more you are able to access your divinity, consciousness and/or holiness. The higher your vibration, the more you will have clarity about your purpose and from that, much greater fulfilment.
This also means that the lower your vibration is, the more out of sync you are with your higher nature, and therefore the more conflict you experience in life.
In short, living a high vibration life is good for you!
How do we live a high vibration life?
There are many ways we can increase the vibration in our life. Here are some easy and practical ways to immediately raise your vibration
Clean and Tidy Surroundings
Across cultures and time, humans have sought harmony. It is our innate nature to live in harmony. Where we place things, how we place them and how clean our space is all goes towards how well we create harmony. It is no surprise that feng shui has had enduring popularity through the ages.
Studies have shown that messy and cluttered living spaces can create anxiety, depression, a sense of hopelessness and procrastination. A Princeton University has indicated that a cluttered and messy environment can make one less productive and less likely to be able to focus on a task at hand. The age-old statements of “a messy home equates to a messy mind or cleanliness is next to Godliness” contain timeless wisdom. When one lives in a clean space, one can think more clearly and sense more harmony. There have even been reports that show that people with clean houses are healthier than those with dirty and/or messy homes.
It is therefore a good practice to declutter and clean!
Thoughts
In the Mystery School traditions, there is the quest to have mastery over one’s thoughts. This very empowering practice stems from the profoundly simple fact that we are not our thoughts, feelings or emotions. We are so much more than that and to be able to truly master our thoughts, would be to truly live as our higher selves.
The more our thoughts are in alignment with our true selves, the higher our vibration will be. But how do we gain mastery?
In the Mystery School Traditions, this all starts with a Life Activation. This is an ancient modality that reconnects you to your divine blueprint and provides you the clarity to live in alignment with who you really are. Using a crystal wand, in a protocol that has been handed down from teacher to student in an unbroken chain for thousands of years, dormant DNA is reawakened and your energy structure is rebalanced, anchoring much more light.
Diet
Ever heard the saying : “You are what you eat”? Bearing that in mind, it is no surprise that a healthy diet will contribute to a high vibration life. There are many different types of diets available and the key is to truly know yourself so that you can eat in a way that is best for you. Discernment is key.
That said, eating plenty of whole foods (i.e. not processed), staying hydrated and consuming lots of fresh fruits and vegetables is generally considered healthy.
As the other saying goes: “Health is Wealth”.
Having a healthy body allows us to enjoy our experience in this physical life and eating well is a good starting point to having a healthy body.
Movement
Just like the vibrations and rhythms in our bodies, physical movement allows us to flow. It is in alignment with life to move. Indeed, all things in nature move and flow. As such, exercise and movement is very important to keeping our vibration high.
While everybody’s body type is different, it is generally accepted that exercise is good for us. Here again, discernment is key! How well do we know ourselves? And, how honest are we to ourselves about where are and what we need to do?
As Sovereign Ipsisimus Dave Lanyon of the Modern Mystery School often repeats: “Know Thyself”.
Meditation
Just as our physical space should be tidy, so should our mind. It is very difficult to connect to the higher vibrations and the higher wisdom of our higher selves if we have a lot of mind clutter! How do we declutter the mind?
Meditation is an excellent way to quieten the mind and to train our minds to stay present and not engage with passing thoughts. Indeed, meditation is an important key to attaining mastery over our thoughts, feelings and emotions.
The Max Meditation System is a simple and effective way to meditate. This system was developed by Modern Mystery School Founder Gudni Gudnason, after traveling the world for the last 35 years exploring the phenomena of the mind. A complementary blend of ancient methods learned from prominent teachers in India and Tibet, this system is designed to truly teach you how to get the most out of your meditation practice.
For those interested, the Modern Mystery School has free weekly online Max Meditations.
Gratitude
Taking time to notice and appreciate what is good in your life is often recommended as a way to raise your vibrations. All of the ancient masters who have walked the spiritual path of progression all talk about the importance of gratitude.
It is easy to complain and sulk but, the truth of the matter is that there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for. Gratitude is a practice and the more we practise it, the more we will attract good things into our lives.
Without gratitude, we will never experience joy. Indeed, this is one of the keys to live in a state of joy instead of chasing mere happiness. The Hermetic Joy Class, taught by Sovereign Ipssisimus Dave Lanyon talks extensively about this key component to living a high vibration life!
Spending time in Nature
To raise or reset your vibrational energy, spend time in nature as often as possible.
Exposure to natural sound waves, light waves, negative ions and green spaces are all believed to benefit us.
Multiple studies have found that immersing oneself in nature can decrease stress, lower blood pressure, energise, and cut down cortisol levels. It may even reduce the risk of cardiovascular and/or respiratory disease, improve cognitive function and promote a general sense of wellbeing.
Reiki is a gentle but yet powerful healing modality that originates from Japan. Operating from West London, Incentre offers the benefits of Reiki, along with other healing modalities, handed down from teacher to student under the auspices of the Modern Mystery School.
All living things in this world are made up of energy. Reiki is also energy. It is Pure Universal Life Force and can be used for the highest good and healing of all living beings. The practitioners of INCENTRE harness the power of the Ensofic Ray using the Usui method. The Reiki energy is extremely pure and immediately connects with the client without any ceremonies or intentions on the part of the practitioner. The energy has a high intelligence and will go where it is needed. Reiki will only work for the highest and best good of the client without projection from the practitioner. The practitioner is simply a conduit for the healing energy.
If one needs a boost, a Reiki sensation is definitely one that will raise your vibration.
In conclusion
There are many ways to live and maintain a high vibration life and to reap the benefits of it. That said, having a path that has been walked by great masters before to follow makes it easy, the path of Knowing Thyself.
