Why Spiritual Expansion through Psychedelics might be a new age lie

We are eternal beings

If you have clicked on this page, chances are, you are looking for more. You understand that we exist beyond this physical life and that our energy expands beyond the physical limitations of our bodies.

Indeed, this experience we call life on earth, is but a pit stop in the vast continuum of eternity.  We are eternal beings, divine beings whose existence transcend the mortal coil.

We are infinitely more than the sum total of this life on earth. Our bodies are but temporary.

Yet, we are on this earth to go through a process of learning, so that we may all progress on our journeys to awaken and discover our Godselves and become aligned with the Light.

A Passing Experience versus the wisdom of the path

In the Hermetic traditions of the Modern Mystery School in the lineage of King Solomon, each initiate walks a “path”. That path is different for each individual depending on what that individual’s purpose is. After a “Life Activation” which awakens each individual to the blueprint of their soul, that individual may progress on a path of empowerment, self knowledge and awareness

While the path may not be easy, we are each handed down the tools to work with energy so that we may grow and expand at the pace that we are meant to, in accordance with the individual’s purpose. As we build up our energy structures, we can bring in and hold more light. It is not rushed and it happens incrementally so that we are not utterly overwhelmed.

Just as we don’t go from no physical exercise to lifting heavy weights in the gym overnight, so too is the spiritual path. It is a path of progression through practice, deep desire and dedication. It is not a shortcut to ecstasy. If we were to go from not having stepped foot in the gym to suddenly running a marathon, we could end up seriously injured. The same analogy applies to the spiritual path. If we have not put in the work to develop and train our energy structures, we could end up damaging our energy structures through ignorance.

For anything to have lasting effect, it has to be built up and sustained. A short cut may make you feel better for a time but it will not last. It is but an illusion and after that illusion crumbles, you will be exactly where you were before - no progress!

Akin to putting a bandage over a wound without cleaning out the wound or understanding what caused the wound in the first place, the bandage is but a temporary fix. Soon, the wound will ooze over once more and may even become worse! Anything that promises a quick fix is but an illusion that is not empowering at all!

There is a difference between feeling better for the moment and lasting irreversible expansion.

Real spiritual expansion requires empowering of the self and working on the self. It necessitates the purification of the ego and the discernment to know the difference between opinion and fact. It requires complete self awareness. This is not achieved through an instantaneous “download” nor practices that only serve to make one feel better but which have no long term benefits.

Why psychedelic drugs are often an illusion in spirituality

In the quest to expand their senses, many may have experimented with psychedelic drugs, believing it to be a way to grow and expand spiritually.

The term psychedelic is derived from the Greek words ψυχή (psyche, "soul, mind") and δηλοῦν (deloun, "to manifest"), hence "mind manifesting", the implication being that psychedelics can develop unused potentials of the human mind.
Psychedelics are hallucinogenic drugs which trigger non-ordinary states of consciousness which in turn, cause specific psychological, visual and auditory changes, and often substantially alter the state of consciousness while the taker is on his or her “trip”.

While the individual is on his or her “trip”, they may visualise meeting with divine beings and experience a different reality. In this sense, those who recreationally take these substances may misguidedly feel that they have tapped into the world of the divine.

But have they really?

While Psychedelics have a long history of use in many ancient traditions such as in Shamanism, these practices were often undertaken under the strict guidance of a highly trained Shaman. Usually, the utilisation of such psychedelics such as peyote or Ayahuasca will be accompanied by years of rigorous preparation through meditation, diet and other lineage-based practices beforehand. That practice would have necessitated an intense purification of the ego and self mastery - which would have taken years!

Now however, we seem to have lost some of that wisdom and discipline, partaking in such psychedelics without fully appreciating the sacredness of such practices. Instead of working on ourselves and taking full ownership for our personal power, we have outsourced our spirituality to a drug to “feel good”.

This has polluted, diluted and corrupted the ancient traditions of Shamanism.

Not only is this disempowering, it is also dangerous - not just to our physical bodies but also our spiritual ones.

The psychedelics found in nature and utilised by highly trained Shamans would contain properties that should be a vibrational match for the taker. If the taker’s energy structure is not at a high enough vibration, it could cause tremendous damage to one’s energetic structure.

Taking such psychedelics without being ready is therefore not only ill advised but completely misguided, displaying not only a contemptuous lack of respect for the sacredness of that practice but also encouraging “running away from reality” as opposed to mastery over the self and circumstances.

Partaking in psychedelics in this way is not an initiation into greater knowledge or power. Rather it is a deception of the self!

In ancient lineage-based practices, psychedelics found in nature will be consumed to mark the individual’s growth. The individual would already have undergone the hard work to be deemed “ready” to partake.

In other words, the drug comes AFTER much purification of the ego and not BEFORE.

Synthetic versus natural

Ancient Shamans would have utilised lineage- based knowledge to prepare the psychedelics for spiritual use. Nowadays however, due to commercialism, a desire for short cuts and the negative ego, many of these ancient preparation practices have been lost and many of the so-called psychedelics are no longer even natural, but synthetic.

Synthetic designer hallucinogens may produce the same short term results of altered states of reality, but they will not contain the vibrations found in nature. In other words, they will not lead to spiritual expansion or growth.

The consumption of such synthetic psychedelics have also caused fatalities and other harmful side effects mentally, emotionally, physically and energetically.

In ancient lineage-based practices, when an individual is deemed “worthy” to consume the drug, the drug is meant to impart the high vibrations it imbues to that individual’s energy structure which is ready and worthy to accept. These natural psychedelics therefore contain magickal properties or keys which will be handed down to the worthy individual to begin his or her next level of growth. Synthetic or laboratory made psychedelics will contain none of these magickal properties and will serve no purpose apart from a “trip” with no lasting spiritual effects.

The Path of Empowerment

Genuine and lasting empowerment does not come from consuming psychedelics. Rather, it comes from bringing in more light and building up one’s energetic structure so that one can hold that light and radiate it outwards.

This comes from life activation, empowering thyself, knowing thyself and finally mastery over self. There are no shortcuts and it is not always easy. But, it is rewarding, enriching and lasting. It is the path that truly embraces our personal divinity and the eternity of our existence.

Remember, in ancient traditions, the consumption of the drug is only undertaken under the tutelage of a highly trained Shaman AFTER the hard work is done and NOT before.

In some ancient traditions, psychedelics are not even necessary. We have it within ourselves to unlock and expand. Remember, we are all Gods with the power to create and manifest!

True progression is not premised on “energetic downloads” or “channelled teachings” or “drug-infused” imaginings that create instant masters or teachers. Rather, it is the power of lineage-based physical initiations that confers the authority of the path. This has been down with every Master of Light who has ever walked the earth - such as Lord Buddha, Guan Yin and Jesus Christ.

It is through the process of initiation that our energy structures are able to bring in more light so that we may work with it to fulfil our life's purpose. It is also through the process of initiation that we are able to retain that light and radiate it outwards like a beacon to the world.

Psychedelics are not meant to be a short cut to spiritual expansion and anyone peddling that is selling a lie and an illusion.
